Lip Fillers

The lips are one of the most important esthetic elements in our face. The structure and contours of the lips are individual and must be taken into account when performing the procedure.

What types of fillers are used for lip fillers?

The most suitable fillers for lips are hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid has a high water-binding capacity and moisturizing properties. In recent years, we have achieved more natural and permanent results with the new technology of dynamic fillers.

What are the most important factors that determine the esthetics of lip fillers?

My basic principle when applying lip fillers is to maintain the golden ratio between the upper and lower lip. However, the filler should not be placed in the muscle, but under the pink part that gives the lip its color. This will give you a natural and esthetic lip without looking like a duck.

Is the procedure painful?

Anesthesia with a local anesthetic cream 10-15 minutes before the application is sufficient for the procedure to be comfortable.

What should be considered after lip fillers?

After the application of fillers, you may experience mild edema for 1-2 days. For this reason, you should not eat very cold or hot foods for a few hours after the procedure. You should also avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory painkillers for 1 day, as there is a risk of bruising.

What is the maximum cc of filler that can be applied with lip fillers and how long does it last?

With lip fillers, 1 cc may be enough for a lip with normal volume, while thin lips may need 2 or 3 cc applied. However, it is healthy to apply the 2nd dose after 3 to 4 weeks, not the entire dose in one session. Since the lip is a mobile structure, the permanence averages 4-8 months for the first fillers, and the duration of permanence increases with further doses.
