Enzymatic Lipolysis

What is lipolysis?

Lipolysis increases the permeability of the membrane surrounding the fat cell wall, allowing fat to escape. The broken down fatty acids are transported through the lymphatic system to the kidneys and liver and excreted from the body. The main active ingredients used in enzymatic lipolysis are phosphotidylcholine, L-carnitine and collagenase.

How is lipolysis applied?

In the lipolysis technique, a 12 mm long, very fine 27-30G needle is passed through the skin area and placed at a depth of about 6-8 mm.

Is enzymatic lipolysis also effective for weight loss, and in which areas is it most commonly used?

The main purpose of enzymatic lipolysis is not weight loss, but thinning of the areas where fat accumulation is concentrated regionally, making the person look fitter. The most common areas of application are the abdomen, stomach, hips, inner sides of the legs and knees, upper arms, shoulder area, back and waist. It can also be used for gynecomastia in men.

Is it painful and how often should it be used?

The area to be treated is numbed with a local anesthetic cream, and the pain is minimal. It is applied every 10-15 days.

How many sessions are necessary?

The number of sessions varies depending on the fat volume of the area. The effect is visible from the 2nd session. On average, 3-8 sessions are sufficient.
